THE ALGARVIOS “Back in 2007, Surf Portugal magazine came to Algarve and made an article on the state of the art of surfing in the south region. They published a 20 page special with cover honours and, as juniors climbing our way onto the Portuguese ranks, we were more than happy to be featured among a group of great surfers coming from the region - like the former WCT contender Marlon Lipke, the soon to become Maverick’s rider Alex Botelho and Miguel Mouzinho, now within the top 10 of the Portuguese national rank. Our “French father, Norwegian mom, Danish passport and Portuguese residency” situation sounded a little awkward and, at the same time, exotic to the magazine guys who ended up giving us the nickname “the Hurricane Guichard”!” via Twins On Fins
